It is the policy of Consumers Energy that all contract and service workforce, including any construction workers, line workers, tree trimmers, janitors and lawn care workers that have unescorted physical access to any company facility or cyber access to the company’s network, shall successfully complete a baseline background check. The background check is valid for seven (7) years.

Consumers Energy has partnered with its preferred background screening partner eVerifile to process contractor background checks. After your company registers with eVerifile you will be required to submit your designated employees to process the required criminal background check package.
